Caprice Lamor was born in Newark, New Jersey. She has always been a positive light wherever she went, and she's always known, even at a young age, that she was called by God to do great things. Caprice loved writing as a child, but she gave up the will to write after someone very close in her life told her she wouldn't succeed. Singing was her passion, too, and she later pursued a singing career in her teen years to her late twenties. She also pursued acting and modeling after she was continuously approached or stopped in the streets of New York City by modeling scouts.

Despite all the obstacles that came up along her journey to find herself and her purpose, Caprice’s determination and ambition to become something bigger than herself remained her focus. Caprice later graduated from college and obtained her degree. A few years after graduation, in 2003, Caprice began working for the state government.

In 2016, after 13 years of working for the state government, she left her job and married her husband and relocated from New Jersey to Georgia. It was during this transition that Caprice felt lost and had to rediscover herself. Living in a different atmosphere felt strange and unfamiliar. Caprice's husband encouraged her to create something and supported her 100 percent. This led her to creating the clothing brands Gurlé pronounced "girl" and By' C. Lamor.

As Caprice was launching her clothing business’ website in October 2017, she heard the voice of God in her sleep telling her to write a book. God told her to get up and write down the contents he was giving her. Unlike others, Caprice didn't want to be disobedient to God's voice. So, she put her clothing line on hold, and she prepared to write her first book. After being persuaded by her husband to title her book after her clothing brand, Gurlé, Caprice wrote her first book, "Dear Gurlé There is a Hurt girl inside ALL of us." Dear Gurlé has turned into a five book series using the title Dear Gurlé. Her first book was released in November 2020. Caprice’s second book "Dear Gurlé Men Hurt Too" was released in April 2021. Caprice Lamor is a woman of God, wife, entrepreneur, author, creator, sister, daughter, aunt, niece, godmother and friend. She has found her purpose and passion in her life. Not everyone is as fortunate to find themselves, yet alone their purpose. Caprice knows she is blessed and loved. Everywhere she goes, she continues to be a positive light, role model and encourager. But one thing that's most important to her above all things is her faith and her relationship with God.
